Flu and Fun

It's that time again! You know when your awakened in the middle of the night to the sound of a gagging child, grabbing them from the bed as fast as you can to make it to the toilet before anything comes out. Yes, it's that wonderful time of year.
Owen was the first. All night vomiting. Couch bound the next day. Then me, although I was lucky not to have the vomiting. Just a horrible 3-day migraine and upset tummy. Leland came next. Same thing, all night and day vomiting. Lucky us!!!

In between the days of sickness we were able to get out a bit. We went to the Iron Mission State Park where they had a Christmas festival. Lots of fun activities (letters to Santa, candle dipping, paper quilt squares, and the Big guy himself). It was focused on the way the pioneers would have celebrated Christmas. Miranda was amazed at how long it actually takes to make a candle. They all got to use a feather quil and ink for the letters to Santa. The boys were fascinated by the replica of the city back then. They also loved all the old weapons and the buggies. It was a fun experience and it made up for all the days of sickness.

On another note, I put a picture of Titan in the slideshow. He's such a brat, if the kids go outside and don't play with him, he will torment them until they do. On this particular day the kids went out to play with chalk and before they could even begin Titan had the chalk box full of chalk in his mouth. All the chalk fell out as he was being chased down by the kids, but he was not gonna give up the box!

I'm sorry about the sickies too. Hopefully all is well now, and you're done with it.

Your a good mom. I haven't even taken my kids to the Iron Mission State Park. I forgot all about the Christmas Festival. Where was I?

I hope you had a good Christmas.
